The soldiers enter and leave the Ural-63095 Typhoon via a single door at the rear of the troop compartment. The crew cabin and the rear compartment are fully enclosed and provide a protection against firing of small arm and shell splinters. The Ural-63095 Typhoon is also protected against landmines and IEDs. It is claimed that this armored truck can withstand 8 kg mine blast. Developers say the vehicle is more dependable than BTR armored personnel carriers, and that it can withstand anti-tank mine blasts. The driver sits at the front of the vehicle on the left side with the commander to the right. Both have a large bulletproof windscreen to the front, which can be covered by a shutter hinged at the top, and a side door that opens to the front. In either side of the troop compartment are two bullet-proof windows and firing ports so that the troops can fire their weapons from within the vehicle. Two circular hatches are mounted on the top of the troop compartment.
