Safran will stop the Hammer production if Dassault won't allow integration on foreign aircraft. | |||
Jean-Paul Herteman, Safran's Chief Executive, told (during an informal dinner) to the defence commissions of the Senate and the National Assembly as well as high-ranking army officers and senior industry managers, that unless the firm is allowed to export the Armement Air-Sol Modulaire (AASM) precision guided munition (PGM) independently of the Dassault Rafale fighter aircraft, then production of the munition will come to a close. |

"The Rafale is not exported at a sufficient rhythm to allow us to maintain production of the AASM. A non-decision concerning an agreement to sell the AASM on its own signs its death warrant," said Herteman on 8 April. The AASM or "HAMMER" is a stand-off, precision guided ammunition with a range of 60 Km. |
