Embraer's Super Tucano CAS & training aircraft has been scoring major sales successes during the last two years. The most recent is most certainly the potential $593 mn FMS the DSCA approved in August 2017 for 12 twelve A-29s. According the DSCA, they will be used by Nigeria to combat the Islamist militia Boko Haram and other extremist groups, such as the Islamic State West Africa splinter group. Ghana also announced intention to procure six new A-29 Super Tucano aircraft during Paris Air Show 2015. The aircraft is also considered by specialists as a frontrunner for the USAF OA-X light attack aircraft program. |
