Ten countries have applied to open their national displays at the MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Show, Victor Kladov, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy Department at Rostec State Corporation, told journalists.

"There are a lot of partners through Rostec: more than 40 countries have sent their very representative delegations, 10 countries will open their national displays. Besides us, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation and Rosoboronexport are also inviting their guests. The figures are constantly changing. Several applications have already been submitted today and we are experiencing some difficulties in drafting the meeting schedule for our executives," he said at a press conference held at TASS.
As MAKS CEO Alexander Levin added, 770 participants have applied as of today, 140 of them are foreign participants from 30 countries. "Foreign manufacturers will participate. Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, China, India, Canada, Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Iran will have their national pavilions," he said. He added that the organizers expect a Boeing business jet and the Airbus A350 to arrive at the air show. A total of 130 foreign companies will be present, including Safran, Thales, Boeing, Airbus and others. "Ukrainian enterprises are not yet among them," added Levin. "200 aircraft will take part in the exhibition, of which 84 in the air and 116 in the static display area, including a separate Russian Air Force’s display," the CEO of the air show specified. "An extensive business program is expected at MAKS 2017. As Kladov noted, there are already difficulties with scheduling meetings with foreign delegations for the heads of Rostec’s holding companies. "High-level delegations," he added. "We will have eight aerobatic teams: Strizhi, Russian Knights, Rus air group, First Flight, and Chelavia. The Al Fursan team from the United Arab Emirates will come to us for the first time on seven aircraft. We are reviving the tradition of receiving foreign aerobatic teams on jet planes," said Levin. According to him, the demo flight schedule at the air show is so dense that the participants do not have enough time for performances. Russian Helicopters will present the Arctic version of the Mi-8AMTSh helicopter at MAKS 2017. "These vehicles have no counterparts, because Western helicopters cannot operate in such conditions," Kladov said. According to him, Russian experts tested the AgustaWestland AW189 helicopter in the Arctic. The transfer of the MAKS 2017 dates from August to July was made for convenience of participation of small and medium-sized European companies, with whom cooperation in the aviation industry has been established, Oleg Bocharov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, reported. "We are aware that July is the most gracious time, we are aware that in August we potentially often lost not large companies, but medium and small ones, cooperation with whom in the aviation sector is very important for us. For European companies, August is a holiday period," said Bocharov. According to him, the transfer was also made because MAKS and the air show at Le Bourge are interrelated. "We looked at the calendar for the summer and, of course, July turned out to be the most free for us. Here there is a clear conjunction with Le Bourget, that is, a negotiation process. If it happens, it will be at a very high level for a month," Bocharov explained. |
