According to an article published by the Kyiv Independent on July 9, 2023, citing the Wall Street Journal, anonymous sources have disclosed a recent transfer of approximately 10 Mi-24 attack helicopters from Poland to Ukraine. The transfer was intended to remain undisclosed, but photographic and video evidence emerged online, confirming that the helicopters are currently being transported to Ukraine by road. Several helicopters were observed on tractor-trailers traveling on Poland's highways.

According to the World Air Forces 2023 report, the Polish Land Forces exclusively operate 30 units of Mi-24 helicopters in the Mi-24B and Mi-24D configurations. However, these helicopters will soon be replaced by modern American Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and Italian AgustaWestland AW149 fire support helicopters, ensuring that Poland maintains its military readiness.

Poland has been a supporter of Ukraine, providing approximately 3 billion euros worth of military aid, as stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda on April 14. President Duda also mentioned on April 5 that four MiG-29 jet fighters have already been transferred to Ukraine, with preparations underway to transfer an additional four, and plans being made for six more, totaling 14 pledged MiG-29s to Kyiv. In the future, President Duda suggested that Poland may consider offering its entire fleet of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine once the Polish Air Force acquires new aircraft to compensate for the loss.

It has a top speed of 335 km/h and a range of approximately 450 kilometers. The Mi-24 can operate at a service ceiling of 4,500 meters. It accommodates a crew of two and can carry up to 1,500 kilograms of armament, including rockets, missiles, and machine guns.
