This contract marks the third Patriot order for Romania, strengthening the country's commitment to ensuring its security while contributing to regional stability. The agreement includes the provision of essential launch units, including radars, control stations, and missiles, aimed at further strengthening Romania's defense infrastructure.

Pete Bata, Senior Vice President of the Global Patriot division at Raytheon, expressed the company's commitment to supporting Romania's defense needs. "Raytheon is committed to providing Romania with advanced integrated air and missile defense capabilities to protect its citizens and critical infrastructure," Bata said. He emphasized that Romania’s ongoing investment in the Patriot system is a testament to the country's determination to promote collective security and stability across Europe.

Romania's focus on acquiring additional Patriot systems highlights the country's growing concern for its national defense and its participation in NATO’s collective defense framework. The Patriot systems, known for their proven reliability in combat, are deployed in 19 countries worldwide, offering protection against a range of sophisticated threats, including long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and various airborne threats.

The Patriot system developed and continuously improved by Raytheon, is the only combat-proven ground-based air and missile defense system with successful interception capabilities against advanced aerial threats and large-scale complex raid attacks. These systems will provide Romania with enhanced protection, ensuring the defense of its airspace and critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated threats.

As part of its global supply chain network, Raytheon continues to collaborate with local Romanian defense companies, contributing to the country’s defense industrial base and ensuring the long-term sustainability of air defense capabilities. This partnership also reflects Raytheon’s broader strategy to promote international cooperation and strengthen defense ecosystems within NATO member states.

Raytheon, a division of RTX, is a leading provider of defense solutions. With over a century of technological expertise, the company continues to develop advanced defense solutions across various domains, including air, land, sea, and space. Raytheon’s portfolio extends beyond air defense to include smart weapons, missile systems, sensors, interceptors, and hypersonic technologies, further strengthening its reputation as a global leader in defense innovation.

This latest contract with Romania underscores Raytheon's essential role as a key partner in the defense sector, assisting NATO allies in modernizing and strengthening their air and missile defense systems in the face of evolving global security challenges.
