Azerbaijani Matador and Marauder combat vehicles to be handed over to the Armed Forces soon.
 
 
Azerbaijani Ministry of defense Industry will soon hand over 30 “Matador" and "Marauder" mine-protected armoured vehicles to the Armed Forces, military sources told APA.

On the basis of South Africa’s “Paramount Group”, 30 military vehicles have been manufactured in Baku together with Defense Industry Ministry’s institution. At present, installation of arms and other little works are being carried out on the techniques.

The two armoured vehicles use a “V” shaped chassis which increase the resistance against blast of mine or IED explosion, and can be armed with 12.7 or 14.5 mm machine gun. In case of antitank mines’ explosion, they protect the cew and soldiers from splinters and explosive impacts.

Note that, “Matador” can carry 14 (12+2), “Marauder” 10 (8+2) personnel. Their explosion resistance is 21 kg TNT and 14 kg TNT. These combat vehicles can protect the personnel from 7.62 mm ammo. “Matador” meets standards of STANAG 4569 Level 4a and STANAG 4569 Level 4b, “Marauder” meets standards of STANAG 4596 Level 3a and STANAG 4569 Level 3b.
