Minister of Defence of Estonia, Sven Mikser and the NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen

"The government's stance is that if the allies say what type of training facilities and infrastructure is needed to train with Estonian troops, then we will build them," Estonian Defense Minister Sven Mikser said.

He said the crisis in Ukraine has proved advance warning systems to be unreliable and that troops stationed in the Baltics would play a critical role.

"Additional troops should give the nations more anti-air capabilities and set up a headquarters for direct reinforcements if the need arises," he added.

The Estonian government recently confirmed that U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Estonia early September on his way to Britain for a NATO summit.
