Unlike
vehicles based on modified commercial or military chassis, COMBATGUARD
"Monocoque" capsule represents ‘clean sheet design’,
optimized for military missions. It is prepared for decades of reliable
and efficient operations under harsh terrain and environmental conditions. COMBATGUARD was designed to offer low life cycle cost. Maintenance and support are designed for simplicity and efficiency, utilizing an integrated automotive drivetrain and off-the shelf spare parts. COMBATGUARD provides high mobility over rough topography, including sand, rocky and rugged terrain. The eight-ton vehicle can carry 1.5 tons of payload, powered by a 300hp diesel engine. Its maximum road speed is 150 km/h, while off-road mobility is enabled by customized 54 inch wheels. The COMBATGUARD can ford water obstacles up to 1.5 meter deep and climb vertical obstacles up to 80 cm in forward drive and in reverse. The COMBATGUARD protected hull accommodates 6 or 8 fully equipped troops along with modern, advanced weapon systems. Locating the wheels on the capsule’s sides also enhances the capsule’s protection. The modular design enables the application of different levels of protection, including protection against advanced threats such as EFP, land mines and blast. COMBATGUARD can also be equipped with IMI’s ’’Bright Arrow’’ - an active protection system integrated with the vehicle’s optional remote controlled weapon station. |
