AAI receives contracts from US Army for RQ-7 Shadow UAV support | |||
AAI Corp has been awarded an $110,000,000 contract for performance-based logistics for the Shadow drones. "Performance location and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 29, 2016. Army Contracting Command, Natick, Massachusetts, is the contracting activity," the US DoD announced on Oct. 31.

Part of Textron Systems Corporation, AAI also won a $32,525,015 contract for program management services for Shadow drones performance-based logistics. Work will be performed in Hunt Valley, Maryland, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 29, 2016. The RQ-7 Shadow unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is used by the United States Army, Marine Corps, Australian Army and Swedish Army for reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and battle damage assessment. The Shadow 200 family is powered by a Wankel UAV Engine 741 (38hp). It has a cruise speed of 130 km/h and reaches a max speed of 204 km/h. A tactical drone, the Shadow UAV has a range of 109 km and a service ceiling of 4,572 m. At least 500 RQ-7B Shadow are in service in the US Army and USMC. |
