According to the experts, the transport and logistics systems based on all-terrain CHETRA TM140 vehicles for the most effective and safe development of Russia’s Arctic regions can be used to solve a number of social and economic issues and improve the living standards of the people in the regions that do not have a developed transport and logistics infrastructure. The CHETRA vehicles are adapted to the harsh climate of the Far North and can be used for transportation regardless of weather conditions due to the high maneuverability and advanced navigation system.
The CHETRA PM-140 is able to carry loads of up to 4 tons and traverses swamp areas and permafrost. The vehicle is purposed for transportation of shifts of workers, geological survey troops, and repair teams and for other off-theroad transportation requirements. The CHETRA PM-140 is designed to operate in boreal climatic conditions within temperature range of +40°C to -40°C. The Chetra PM-140 is motorized with a YaMZ-236 B2 gas-turbine-charged engine developing 250 hp. The vehicle uses a six-speed hydromechanical transmission with electrical hydraulic gear shift features 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds. Hydromechanical transmission provides speeds of about 45 km/h on road and 4 km/h when afloat. It has a cruising range of 550 km. The CHETRA PM-140 personnel carrier is purposed for accommodation and transportation of up to 7 passengers and freights up to 1000 kg.
