China to strenghten exchange and military cooperation with South Korea. | |||
General Fang Fenghui, member of China's Central Military Commission and chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Admiral Hwang Ki-Chul, the visiting chief of staff of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy in Beijing on the morning of June 11, 2015.

Fang Fenghui said that with the concerted efforts of President Xi Jinping and President Park Geun-hye in recent years, the China-ROK bilateral relations have advanced by leaps and bounds in various fields including the military evidenced by the frequent high-level reciprocal visits, increasingly perfected communication mechanism and continuously expanded cooperation fields.
China is willing to work with ROK to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries in terms of strategic dialogue, personnel training, and joint training of naval escort taskforces and make positive contributions to pushing forward the in-depth development of the bilateral military ties and maintaining regional peace and stability, Gen. Fang said. ROK speaks highly of China's contributions to maintaining the peninsula and regional peace and stability, Hwang Ki-Chul said, adding that ROK is willing to work with China to strengthen the pragmatic exchange and cooperation between the two militaries, in particular between the navies of the two countries. |
