ELNO proposed Bone conduction and embarking/disembarking on the menu at SOFINS 2015 | |||
At its stand at SOFINS 2015 (Special Forces Innovation Network Seminar), French company ELNO presented a simple solution which facilitates embarking and disembarking operations, based on its expertise in dealing with communication and intercommunication systems and equipment.

Specially designed for disembarked soldiers, the new P2C (Personal Communication Controller) allows the soldier to manage 2 or 3 radios at the same time, to connect to the intercom of a vehicle or helicopter instantly, with no changes or configuration, and then communicate with all of the people connected to the interphone. ELNO also demonstrated continuous communications from a vehicle team member who disembarks, without changing the headset, thanks to the wireless system comprising an interfacing dongle connected to the vehicle's interphone and a modem equipping the disembarked personnel. Thanks to this wireless extension of the interphone, the disembarked personnel can remain in contact with the vehicle from distances of over 100m, during observation periods outside of the vehicle, when going to a checkpoint or meeting people on the ground. Finally, from its range of headsets, ELNO presented the evolutions of its BCH300 (based on the principle of bone conduction), now adapted for use with multiple portable military radios including PR4G, Melchior, Harris and different models from the TETRA range For full duplex functions, such as for use with an interphone (or Smartphone, or tablet!), the version with a differential antenna microphone will also be presented. The bone conduction is the phenomenon of distribution of the sound up to the internal ear via the bones of the skull. Listening is carried out directly by the vibrations of the skull, and thus overcomes the passage through the auditory canal, it is called "bone conduction headphones."In the same way the voice is transmitted to a vibration sensor that detects vibration of the jaw bone, it is called "bone conduction microphone. |
