At IDET 2015, the International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies, Excalibur Group presents the tracked armoured vehicle personnel carrier ASCOD on its booth.

In February 2015, United Kingdom has ordered a total of 589 of the Scout SV, a variant of the ASCOD, intended to replace the CVR(T) family, at a cost of GBP3.5 billion (USD5.420 billion). These are divided between two principal variant families: the 40 mm turret armed reconnaissance vehicle; and the Protected Mobility Reconnaissance Support (PMRS) variant.

The ASCOD is a new tracked multirole armoured platform designed and manufactured by Steyr now General Dynamics European Land Systems.

The new ASCOD offers higher level of protection than its predecessor currently in service with the Spanish Armed Forces under the name of Pizarro. Vehicle has an advanced modular armor and innovative mine protection. Hull floor has a special shape, plus there is a layer of add-on composite armor. Also vehicle has a higher ground clearance due to redesigned suspension. Crew and passengers are seated on mine blast resistant seats.

The new ASCOD can be fitted with various armament, depending on the version. A baseline armored personnel carrier can be fitted with remotely-controlled 12.7-mm machine gun. An infantry fighting vehicle version can be armed with a turret-mounted 25-, 30-, or even 40-mm cannon.

The ASCOD is powered by a German MTU V8 199 T21 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 805 hp. Engine is located at the front. It is mated with a Renk HSLW256B 6-speed automatic transmission. If required, the ASCOD can be also fitted with hybrid propulsion.
