According a representative of KIG, a prototype of this new vehicle could be unveiled during the Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX) which will be held in Amman (Jordan) from 9 to 12 May 2016.
Mister Ahmad A. Sallakh Chief Executive of KIG said, "This new 8x8 armoured vehicle personnel carrier will be fully designed and developed by the Jordanian Defense Industry under the lead of KADDB". The vehicle is based on a common 8x8 Armored Vehicle Platform, with the capability of being utilized for a number of variants including: APC, IFV, and Tank killer armed with up to 105mm caliper main gun. The layout of the new KADBB 8x8 armoured is very similar to modern 8x8 combat vehicles with the power pack front right, driver front left and the whole of the remainder of the hull rear being left free for the troop compartment. The soldiers can enter and leave the vehicle via a large electric ramp mounted at the rear of the hull. The KADDB 8x8 armoured will feature full 8 × 8 drive with power steering on the front four wheels. The vehicle can run at maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 700 km. The KADDB 8x8 armoured has a basic weight of 25,000 kg but the vehicle can be fitted with add-on armour depending on the missions. Four small bulletproof windows are available on each side of the troops compartment and four hatches on the roof. |
