The General Service Respirator (GSR), a world class solution developed for the UK Ministry of Defence, will be showcased on the Scott Safety stand. When developing the GSR, Scott Safety assessed every element of military respirator design to develop new features and incorporate unparalleled technology. The GSR provides the UK Armed Forces with improved levels of respiratory and ocular protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats and was developed to improve the psychological and physiological burden of wearing a respirator for extended periods. Based on the successful design of its GSR respirator, Scott Safety’s First Responder Respirator (FRR) is the next generation of respiratory protection for the global civil responder community. The FRR uses revolutionary technology to deliver lower user burden, improved systems integration and ease of operation. Offering best in class protection, the FRR is manufactured from chemically hardened materials that have proven comfort characteristics for 24 hour wear. The FRR is compatible with conventional round filters with a Din 40 thread, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and compressed air airline breathing systems. Also featured on the Scott Safety stand is the Scott Patriot 5510. This hybrid APR/PAPR/SCBA modular system provides rapid adaptation to overcome any CBRN environment. It can be used in any mode of operation that uses a single mask, requiring the operator to change modes by simply flipping the mode selector switch that is attached to the mask. This allows for truly effortless breathing during combat or law enforcement operations. |

In terms of other tactical respiratory protection, Scott Safety’s Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE)-SCBA represents a major advancement in its field. Set to become the standard carrier for SCBA in the military, first responder and security domains, the MOLLE is designed to be incorporated into standard tactical load-bearing equipment such as body armour, carrying systems and vests. It is also lighter than any other carrying system in its class, offering the ultimate in comfort and operational flexibility. The MOLLE’s considerably reduced user burden, combined with the highest standards of performance, provides operatives with complete confidence in meeting mission requirements. The new Tactical ProPak also incorporates Scott Safety’s proven SCBA technology. Designed to meet high specification requirements, it features an adjustable back plate that enables a durable and lightweight design in addition to a high level of user comfort. The ProPak also comes with the option to include Scott Safety’s new 379 bar cylinder technology. This provides 25% higher pressures than standard 300 bar SCBA and offers increased duration with minimal increases in size and weight, reducing user burden. The entire ProPak range has been approved to EN137:2006 Type2. |
