The system supports flights along a precisely define route. Mission planning and control is carried out through the operator's panel built on a heavy duty touch-screen laptop. In addition, the installed avionics provides a complete set of telemetry, received on the ground and suitable for further analysis.
The MANTA system is equipped with Flytronic communication subsystem. An integrated digital data link ensures continuous communication between the computers on the ground (control and operation station, data analysis station, external elements of the C4ISR systems) and the aircraft. |

The radio link establishes a transparent ethernet bridge and supports easy data transmission setup.
The MANTA VTOL supports system operation from any casual terrain with severly limited space for take-off and landing operations (urban development, warship deck, building roof, etc). MANTA VTOL has a wingspan of 6.6 meters, fuselage length of 3.3 meters and max take off weight of 65 Kg. It is intended to carry a set of recon sensors such as: - EO/IR optoelectronic payload with rangefinder and laser target designator - COMINT/ELINT radio and electronic recon payload - Payloads for detection of CBRN - SAR and maritime radars - Other sensors such as LIDAR, AIS, NDVI While its primary role is surveillance, the MANTA VTOL can be fitted with weapon payloads as well. WB Electronics plans to picth the MANTA UAV for the ORLIK program. |
