The main focus of the discussions was on the mechanisms that would effectively support the cooperation between the defence industrial complex of NATO countries, the respective ministries and other governmental organizations, and the standardization of the Ukrainian military equipment production, in order to improve the supply and production chain.

That would not only improve the Ukrainian defence industrial capabilities but would lead to the country coming a step closer to NATO, which is part of the country’s strategy.

Under this pretext, Ukroboronprom has developed this year the “Ukrainian Shield” strategic programme. It focuses on the production of high-tech equipment, the transition to international and NATO standards and the supply of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with modern systems.

Ukroboronprom’s Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Activity, Denir Gurak, said: “Senior level of foreign countries and companies from Europe and America at today’s forum will give good, high-quality and effective impetus to defence industry transformation – namely defence reform. This is the current strategic need.”
