The PARS III 8x8 and PARS III 6x6 will be showcased for the first time during the International Defense Exhibition IDEF which was held in May 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey.
PARS III 8X8 is the new generation of wheeled armored combat vehicle (WACV) designed and developed by FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.S. PARS III 8X8 has been developed with a special emphasis on mobility, protection, payload and growth potential. The vehicles employ the latest designs and technologies with a focus on the performance and durability of modern military operational requirements. The vehicles are available in 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 configurations. The design of the vehicle is unique with the crew compartment including driver and commander at the front seated side by side, the engine in the middle of the hull at the front of the weapon station and the troops compartment at the rear. There is a corridor on the right of the vehicle which allows the driver and commander to quickly leave the vehicle from the rear in case of emergency. One of the main feature of the vehicle is five large panoramic periscopes mounted at the front of the vehicle offering 180° forward vision. The periscopes are fitted with wipers and air blast cleaners. Another interesting feature of the PARS III vehicle is the capability to go from left hand drive to right hand drive in five seconds at any speed. The drivers can alternate while on the move without interruption. The PARS III hull can be brought up to the level of protection required by the user thanks to the modular design armor system. The hull form, underbelly structure, base plates and specially developed mine-resistant seats are designed to protect personnel against high-level mine threats. The PARS III 8X8 combat weight is 30,000 kg and is powered by a diesel engine. It can carry a total 12 military personnel including driver, commander, gunner and 9 infantrymen. |

The PARS III 6x6 combat weight is 25,000 kg, and is propelled by a diesel engine. The powerpack consists of a water cooled diesel engine, coupled with a fully automatic transmission which generates a maximum road speed of up to 100 km/h. PARS III 6x6 is capable of maneuvering on 60% vertical and 30% horizontal slopes, climbing 70 cm-high obstacles and crossing 175 cm-wide trenches. The PARS III in 6x6 configuration has the capacity to accommodate a total of 9 military including driver, commander, gunner and 6 infantrymen. At IDEF 2016, the PARS 6x6 and 8x8 were fitted with a one-man SABER turret armed with a one-man power operated turret armed with one M242 25mm automatic cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun mounted to the left of the main armament. The digital fire control and sighting system includes a 3rd Generation Long Wave or Mid Wave Thermal Imager, a telescopic day optical channel and an eye safe Laser Range Finder and ballistic computation capability. The gun turret drive system is electrical and fully digital with two axis stabilization capability to ensure a high accuracy of fire on the move. |
