AirShow China 2018: Sany Defense launches the Furious Lion light armored vehicle.
Besides unmanned platforms and aircraft, new light armored vehicles were presented for the first time at this year's AirShow China, held in Zhuhai (China). Among them is the Furious Lion Light High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle unveiled by Sany Defense.

A subsidiary of Sany Heavy Industries, Sany Defense is today proposing a new light tactical vehicle designed for field operations, urban operations, security and military missions. Wether fleets have narrowly peacekeeping, counter-insurgency and logistic operations demand, they can be equipped with the corresponding variant to meet specific needs.
The Furious Lion can be quickly adapted to be used as light infantry fighting vehicle, command and control platform, scout and reconnaissance vehicle, recovery vehicle, and cargo truck, while still benefiting from a common platform and interchangeable parts. Self-protection capability is provided by a RCWS fitted on the cabin roof.
The Furious Lion vehicle has a length of 5 m, a wide of 2.4 m and a height of 2.2 m. It has a total weight of about 10 tons, with a payload capability of 2.5 tons. If Sany Defense does not detail the powerpack, the vehicle is able to reach a maximum on-road speed of 145 km/h and has a maximum operational range of 800 km, according to the official data.
Crew protection is ensured up to NATO Stanag 4569 level 2, or a 6 kg TNT blast protection level, says Sany Defense.
Sany Heavy Industry is a major Chinese construction equipment maker based in Changsha, Hunan Province. The company has large plants in five Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Beijing. It also has research and development centers and production bases in the U.S., Germany and India.
