Eurosatory 2018: Arquus Trigger pickup truck armed with an automatic gun.

| 2018

Arquus (formerly Renault Trucks Defense) has chosen to puzzle (you may change the verb) the visitors by arming its “Trigger” 4x4 pickup truck which, in this configuration, deserves its name.

The “Trigger” is a light tactical vehicle able to fulfill several roles: troop transportation, logistics are obviously its primary ones but it can also take in charge security mission and, as it appears hear, offensive or defensive missions. Arquus claims the Trigger has been designed with military missions in sight.

The vehicle’s empty weight is 3.5 tons, its payload being 1.3 ton maximum to keep the off-road performances. But the maximum gross weight can reach 7 tons, almost a light truck. The engine is a 4-cylinder 2.2 l turbo diesel developing 150hp, or 375 Nm at 2,000rpm.

The armed configuration illustrated here reminds the field adaptations so often seen in Africa and the Middle East. This time, it’s made in a professional way! And with a seriously more deadly weapon.
