Bharat Electronics displays their wide range of know-how in the military field. One of their products called Shrusti is a cooled Thermal Imager based on day/night sight with in-built safe laser ranger finder (at least 8,000 meters, following NATO specifications), digital magnetic compass, colour CDD camera and in-built GPS (with Indian grid). This device is capable of giving range, azimuth and elevation, and also coordinates of the target. The device weighs 3.5 kg and can operate from -30°C to +55°C.
The images – both colour video and thermal version – are displayed on separate screens mounted with associated controls in a rather compact case, even smaller than an attaché case. This compactness makes the two elements of the system easy to carry and use.
