Interview with Rémy Gardon, Head of ASEAN & PACIFIC Office at LACROIX.
You will be attending the DSA 2018 exhibition from April 12th to 16th, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. What are your current events and perspectives in this country?
2018 is a very unique year for Etienne Lacroix, since we have some major events to share with our customers and prospects:
Regionally, LACROIX Defense has recently opened a new office based in Kuala Lumpur, in KLCC central district, to handle all the activities in the ASEAN and Pacific Regions.
And Globally, Etienne Lacroix Group (turnover around € 170 million in 2017), a world leader in pyrotechnics applied to the defence, law enforcement and civil protection sectors will celebrate its 170th anniversary this year.
LACROIX has been awarded a contract for the delivery of countermeasure solutions for an undisclosed end-user, and we seek to develop our footprint in Malaysia by addressing other Malaysian Armed Forces requirements. We believe that the Malaysian Armed Forces offer in teresting perspectives with large numbers of air, land and naval platforms. As a world leader in pyrotechnics and self-protection, LACROIX is seeking to equip the Malaysian Armed Forces with its state-of-the-art countermeasures.
What types of products and services will you showcase during the show?
We will showcase our very latest and modern GALIX Vehicle Survivability Systems.
For decades, LACROIX has been continuously upgrading “smart protection” solutions, such as Vehicle Self-Protection systems mainly in NATO and French Standards. The GALIX system and munitions ensure protection of the platform based on smoke grenade launchers, which increase survivability of armored vehicles with automatic deployment against IR, laser, electro-optic guided weapons.
GALIX provides full protection of the vehicle: threat detection, alert and threat information, data analysis and deployment of the Countereasures. In addition, LACROIX offers a complete range of ammunition for combat, peacekeeping, law enforcement, and training applications.
You are exhibiting in the French Pavilion. What benefits do you expect from this participation?
DSA is a major international event in Malaysia and definitely a good opportunity to reinforce our presence, confirm our commitment and be attentive to the future requirements of the Malaysian Defense and Security acquisitions. Through this event we expect to meet potential customers, industrial partners and government delegations in order to present our solutions. It is also the opportunity to get information on the market and discuss potential needs for which we could provide effective solutions.
