The new CBRN Recon Vehicle-II is a further development of the K216A1 tracked NBC reconnaissance vehicle, which has been developed to meet the technical requirements of the battlefield environment for NBC warfare. It has a crew of three including driver, commander and one operator.
The new CBRN Recon Vehicle-II is able to detect chemical agents in 5 km, using detecting and measuring equipment mounted on the vehicle. It has also complete CBR defensive system. The vehicle can send information on regions polluted chemically using GPS (Global Positioning System) and C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence) equipment.
The NRBC onboard equipment of the CBRN Recon Vehicle-II can detect distinguish chemical agents (32 type) and toxic chemical industrial material (56 type). It can also detect agents (germs, spores, and toxin) and collecting specimen thanks to the use of equipment mounted at the rear of the vehicle.
The CBRN Recon Vehicle-II is based on the K200A1 tracked APC motorized with a V-8 diesel developing 350 hp coupled to a X200-5K full-automatic transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse speeds. It can run at a maximum road speed of 70 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 480 km. The vehicle is fully amphibious and can swim at a speed of up to 7 km/h.
For its self-protection, the CBRN Recon Vehicle-II is armed with one K6 12.7mm machine and one M60 7.62mm machine gun.
