If the Bina adopts a layout mostly similar to existing UAVs developed in other countries, it seems to have been fully developed by Iranian engineers.
"Bina is designed as a reconnaissance and surveillance UAV system. This system can carry out different missions such as: real time video imaging and reconnaissance and battlefield surveillance for covering various targets on ground", says Qods Aviation Industries.
The Bina has a wingspan of 2 meters, a length of 1.65 meters. It features a MTOW of around 5 kg. This "low cost UAV" is operated by a sole soldier through a portable control station. It also features auto take-off and landing capability.
Bina has one-hour flight endurance and can fly a 10km-distance at a 350-m altitude and a 75-km/h maximum speed. It is the first time that Iran displays Bina in an international exhibition.
