KADEX 2018: Russian Orlan-10E UAV makes its international debut.
The Orlan-10E (E stands for Export-oriented, Eksportny) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the Russian robotic industry has made its international debut at the KADEX 2018 defense show in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Orlan-10 unmanned aerial system comprises from two to four UAVs, a catapult launcher, and payloads. Each vehicle has a maximum take-off weight of 18 kg and a wingspan of 3.1 m and carries a 3 kg payload. Powered by a piston engine, the Orlan-10E has an endurance of up to 10 hours, a maximum flight range of 300 km, a flight speed of 70-150 km/h, and a flight altitude of up to 5,000 m. The vehicle takes off against a 15 m/s wind. The Orlan-10E can be controlled at a distance of up to 100 km via radio channel.
The UAV can be fitted with daylight photo and video cameras, a gyrostabilized thermal imager, a GSM network monitoring system, or a tactical radios detector. The vehicle can optionally carry meteorological or chemical, nuclear, biological and radiological (CBRN) reconaissance sensor suites. The UAV also works as a network relay station.
The Orlan-10E's reliability is provided by four navigation assets, particularly, radio beacons, a magnetic declination device, inertial measurement units, and a satellite receiver. The UAV has received a jamming-resistant datalink.
In the baseline configuration, the Orlan-10E is based on a semi-trailer.
