STC Delta from Georgia has developed new Didgori pickup 4x4 armored vehicle.

The Georgian State Defence Company STC Delta has developed a new variant of the Didgori wheeled armoured vehicle in pickup variant that was unveiled on May 28, 2018, during the celebration of Independence Day and the 100th anniversary of the creation of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia in 1918.

According to our first analysis, the new version is based on the Didgori 2 but is designed as pickup vehicle with a cargo area at the rear. As the Didgori 2, the new version has an all-welded monocoque steel V-shaped hull which offer protection against both 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm small arms fire as well as mines. The body of the vehicle is especially designed to have optimal angles to ensure maximum effectiveness against kinetic and mine blast threats.

The layout of the Didgori pickup is standard with engine at the front, crew and troops compartment in the middle and cargo area at the rear. It has a crew of five with two seats at the front and three at the rear. The personnel enter and leave the vehicle through two doors located on either side. There is two bullet-proof windows at the front the crew compartment and each doors are equipped with one small bullet-proof window offering situational awareness and ballistic protection with the same level as for the hull.

The Didgori pickup is based on a Ford F550 super heavy duty 4x4 truck chassis, using the same mechanical components. The vehicle is motorized with a FORD turbo charged V8 Diesel engine developing 356hp., coupled to an automatic transmission with 6 forward and 1 reverse speeds.
