Thai army has performed firing tests with 120mm ATMM mortar system.
On July 4, 2018, Royal Thai Army Infantry Center at Artillery Firing Range, Artillery Center, Fort Phaholyothin (Phahonyothin), Lopburi Province has performed firing test with the 120mm ATMM (Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortar). This new artillery system was unveiled by the Ministry of Defense of Thailand during Defense and Security Exhibition in November 2017.

During the tests, the 120mm ATMM (Autonomous Truck Mounted Mortar) was operated by soldiers from the Royal Thai Air Force Training Center at the Royal Thai Artillery Training Ground Khao Phlun Army Artillery Center in Lopburi province.
It is a milestone in the development of the project, the tests included live firing and demonstrations of surveillance and aiming systems performed by the Thai Weapon Production Center Defense Industry and Energy Center, Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with Israeli Company Elbit Systems.
The 120mm ATTM project is a collaboration between the Thai Ministry of Defense and the Israeli Company Elbit Systems which has provide the integration of its Elbit Soltam SPEAR 120mm mortar on a wheeled chassis.
The 120mm ATTM is based on a 4x4 military truck chassis manufactured in India by TATA which is fitted with a new cargo platform with a thickness of 7mm able to carried the SPEAR 120mm mortar system. The suspension of the truck has also been reinforced. The SPEAR mortar system has a rate of fire of 10 rounds a minute. It can engage targets at a maximum range of 6.5 km, using standard ammunition. The 120ATMM is operated by a crew of four.
The 2120mm ATTM is equipped with fire conrol system which is able to anlayse the ballistic data and commands the electric drive system to point the mortar barrel to the particular azimuth and elevation angles. Feedback is delivered to the mortar fire control system through a GPS-based north finding system and inclinometer.
