A noteworthy feature of the 2023 National Day Parade was the display of combat vehicles currently donated to Ukraine in the framework of the invasion of the country by the Russian army. Among them, the AMX-10RCR, CAESAR howitzer and the SAMP/T air defense missile system stood out.

The AMX-10RCR, a 6x6 wheeled reconnaissance vehicle and tank destroyer, is a crucial asset to French and Allied forces in the Ukrainian conflict. It is armed with a 105mm gun that is effective against most types of armored vehicles. Its amphibious capabilities and high mobility make it a formidable force on various types of terrains, contributing significantly to operations in Ukraine.

The SAMP/T, or Surface-to-Air Missile Platform/Terrain, is another significant system now deployed in Ukraine. This land-based missile system provides comprehensive air defense coverage against aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. It serves as an essential component of the allied forces' defense strategy in Ukraine, providing protection against potential aerial threats.

A standout among the displayed assets was the CAESAR (CAmion Equipé d'un Système d'ARtillerie) howitzer, a self-propelled 155mm/52-caliber gun. The Caesar has proven to be a game-changer on the battlefield with its rapid reaction time and high mobility, allowing for quick-fire support. Its deployment in Ukraine plays a pivotal role in providing indispensable artillery support against enemy forces.

The display of these systems, actively deployed in a conflict zone, underscored the seriousness of the situation in Ukraine. It also emphasized France's commitment to supporting its allies and maintaining stability in the region. The French National Day Military Parade 2023 served not only as a display of national military strength but also a strong statement of solidarity with international partners.
