The exercise involves the Iron Division, comprising various combat units, including reconnaissance, armored cavalry, infantry, aviation, artillery, engineers, and logistics. All these units undergo validation as part of Exercise Iron Titan 23.

The exercise encompasses a range of training, from basic soldier skills to specialized roles, ensuring that combat troops receive timely support. It emphasizes the need for intense training for supporting units, as they often operate over vast distances and must maintain communication, personal protection, and equipment.

The Combat Ready Training Centre (CRTC) designed a scenario to test commanders' ability to coordinate maneuvers effectively while facing opposition from Team Hannibal, simulating enemy disruptions to logistics and firepower delivery.

Major Paddy Pratt from the CRTC underscores the importance of this level of training, drawing from lessons learned in conflicts like Ukraine to prepare soldiers for future challenges.

Interoperability with other nations is a crucial aspect, as 3 (UK) Div is now part of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. For Exercise Iron Titan, Ghost Troop from the U.S. Army has integrated into the Royal Lancers Battlegroup, strengthening tactical-level interoperability between the two forces.

The six-week exercise in southwest England and south Wales allows soldiers to experiment with technical skills and adapt to evolving warfare concepts. The knowledge gained serves as a foundation for future training, aligning with the Field Army's "How We Fight 26" strategy.

Brigadier General Matt Brown emphasizes that Exercise Iron Titan is about readiness and development, aligning with the army's preparations for future combat scenarios. The commitment of the entire team to this training is commendable.
