The TL-4 is a ground-to-ground tactical attack platform. It has been designed to offer a blend of precision, adaptability, and ease of operation in various combat scenarios. The system's composition includes a missile, a launch canister, a launching device, and an observing device, all integrated into a coherent operational framework. The missile-in-canister design enhances safety and readiness, while the fire control system and device ensure accurate targeting.
What sets the TL-4 apart is its advanced guidance system. It employs uncooled infrared/TV image homing combined with a duplex wireless data link, ensuring a high kill probability of over 85%. The missile's technical specifications include a firing range of 0.5 to 6 km, a weight of less than 26 kg, and its lightweight design makes it highly portable. Its operational modes are versatile, including lock-on before launch, fire and forget, lock-on after launch, and man-in-the-loop, offering flexibility in various combat situations.
The package also includes simulation training equipment and support equipment, ensuring that personnel can be effectively trained in its use. The inclusion of an indoor training simulator, operation training missiles, and a missile checkout device indicates a comprehensive approach to training and maintenance.
The system's adaptability is evident in its multi-platform capability. The TL-4 missile can be deployed from a light-wheeled vehicle, all-terrain vehicles, UAVs, and even from a portable tripod, making it suitable for a wide range of tactical scenarios. Whether targeting enemy tanks, armored vehicles, fortifications, or fire points, the TL-4 can adapt its attack mode, choosing between direct-attacking and top-attacking trajectories, to effectively neutralize high-value targets.
Its combination of precision, adaptability, and ease of use, along with its strong adaptability to different battlefield environments, makes it a notable addition to any military's arsenal. However, this is not the first time we have seen it, as we discussed it previously on Army Recognition on November 8, 2018.
