The THeMIS Combat UGV is designed to support maneuver units by providing direct fire support and acting as a force multiplier. The RWS HITROLE Light, adaptable for various weaponry, including 7,62mm or 12,7mm machine guns or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher, incorporates AI to assist in the acquisition and tracking of targets. Despite these advanced capabilities, the final decision to engage targets remains in the hands of a human operator.

Improving force protection is a key feature of the THeMIS Combat UGV, as it allows operators to remotely control the weapon system and conduct reconnaissance, day or night, from a protected position. This capability aims to increase troop security by providing a greater safety distance from potential threats.

The RWS HITROLE Light is recognized for its multi-role, ultra-lightweight design and is currently in service with over 300 units worldwide.

Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics, said: “The THeMIS has proven to be a highly adaptable platform for RWS integrations. The collaboration with Leonardo for the integration of HITROLE is a significant step forward. This partnership aims to offer a robust robotic combat system to the Italian Army and international customers, with the intention of improving the combat capabilities and security of the troops."

The THeMIS UGV has been integrated into the defense strategies of 16 countries, including 8 NATO members, in various configurations, indicating its widespread adoption and versatility.

Milrem Robotics, with operations in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the United States, specializes in the development and integration of robotics and autonomous systems. Their product line, which includes the THeMIS and Multiscope UGVs, Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle, and MIFIK, reflects the company's commitment to advancing the field of robotic warfare.

This introduction of the new THeMIS Combat UGV by Milrem Robotics, in collaboration with Leonardo, represents a progressive step in the integration of autonomous systems into defense operations, aligning with the current trend towards unmanned and human-assisted technologies. AI in modern military strategies.
