The NORA-B52 NG is built upon an 8x8 MAN truck chassis, a robust foundation that promises enhanced mobility and durability. But what truly sets this weapon apart is its fully automatic loading system, a feature that amplifies its firepower and efficiency on the battlefield.
This cutting-edge artillery weapon, representing the pinnacle of Serbian defense innovation, boasts a 155 mm caliber, making it one of the most potent fire support artillery weapons globally. The integration of the 155 mm weapon module on the 8x8 chassis allows for control directly from the vehicle cabin. This module can be likened to a 155 mm RCWS due to its advanced features.
The heart of the weapon module is the 155 mm autofrettaged barrel assembly, compliant with the NATO JBMOU (Joint Ballistics Memorandum of Understanding) standards. This 52-caliber-long barrel, with a 23-liter powder chamber, ensures precision and power with every shot.
One of the standout features of the NORA-B52 NG is its fully automatic loader, capable of holding 30 projectiles and propellant charges. This system can achieve a blistering rate of fire of up to 4 rounds per minute. An additional 6 rounds are strategically placed on the platform for swift automatic reloading, bringing the total combat set to 36 rounds.
In terms of ballistic capabilities, the howitzer can achieve a firing range of 32.5 km with an ERFB projectile, 41.5 km with an ERFB BB projectile, and a staggering 52 km with a VLAP projectile. It is compatible with all types of 155 mm ammunition and boasts an MRSI capability of 3 rounds at 30 km.
The NORA-B52 NG is not just about firepower; it's about precision. It employs an advanced inertial navigation system, complemented by a backup satellite navigation system, ensuring pinpoint accuracy. The fully automatic fire data setting system boasts an error of less than 1 mil, and the weapon can transition from halt to firing its first round in just 60 seconds.
Despite its formidable capabilities, the NORA-B52 NG maintains a compact profile with a combat weight of less than 40 tons and dimensions that make it agile and deployable in diverse terrains.
With this unveiling, Yugoimport has once again showcased its commitment to pushing the boundaries of defense technology. The NORA-B52 NG is not just a weapon; it's a testament to innovation, precision, and power.
