The Aselsan Pulat APS is an active protection system designed to counter anti-tank-guided missiles and rocket-propelled grenades. It was jointly developed by Tübitak SAGE and Aselsan, with input from the Ukrainian Zaslon APS technology. The Pulat system employs sensors, processors, and interceptors to provide all-around protection to armored vehicles, and each tank is equipped with six launchers to intercept incoming threats.

The Kaplan MT medium tank is the first tank-class system manufactured in T¨rkiye and included in a national army's inventory. It was developed through collaboration between FNSS and PT Pindad, as part of a Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and Indonesia.

The Kaplan MT features a design focused on low silhouette and high power-to-weight ratio in its class, with emphasis on weight optimization and mobility performance. Its rear configuration power pack, advanced electronic controlled systems, Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), and heavy-duty suspension ensure reliable and continuous power during battlefield maneuvers day and night.

The tank's design aims to enhance battlefield survivability, incorporating advanced ballistic and mine protection systems. It also boasts quick response capabilities against various threats.

Inside the vehicle, crew ergonomics and adaptability to different tactical scenarios, including driving, firing, and ammunition load/unload, have been carefully considered. The tank is equipped with day and thermal cameras for the driver, a multi-functional digital driver dashboard, and a 3rd generation high-performance sight system for the gunner and commander. Additionally, it features a Battlefield Management System (BMS) and Laser Warning System (LWS) to enhance crew situational awareness.

The Kaplan MT is equipped with a command control system and laser warning system to provide tactical awareness to the vehicle commander. Its integration with the Pulat active protection system further enhances its defensive capabilities and firepower options.
