At Milipol 2023, the French company Shark Robotics introduced Barakuda, a new unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). This vehicle, developed with insights from the French Army, is tailored for defense and security missions.

The Barakuda offers up to 10 hours of operational life on a single charge, addressing the need for sustained operation in the field. It can carry a significant payload of up to 500 kg and tow up to 1 ton, making it suitable for a variety of tasks, including equipment transport and evacuation of injured personnel.
With dimensions of 160 cm in length and 120 cm in width, the Barakuda is built to navigate difficult terrains. It features electromagnetic brakes and can overcome obstacles up to 30 cm high. The UGV is capable of handling slopes of 40° and side slopes of 30°, ensuring versatility across different landscapes.
The Barakuda is water-resistant, with an IP65 rating, and is powered by electric engines, allowing speeds up to 18 km/h, potentially reaching 20 km/h. Its battery system includes 8 Shark Energy ultra-resistant batteries, providing a reliable power source.
The vehicle's modular design allows for quick configuration changes without tools, adaptable for various missions. It can be operated remotely from up to 1,000 meters away, featuring dual-frequency control, integrated GPS, and telemetry for operational awareness.
Additional options for the Barakuda include a video turret, ballistic shield, water cannon, and various sensors, enhancing its utility for reconnaissance, security, rescue, and disaster response.
