The prototype of the Perun UGV was initially unveiled in September 2019 during the MSPO exhibition. It was developed in response to the Polish Army's requirements for an autonomous vehicle capable of conducting reconnaissance and combat missions. The vehicle is designed to function effectively in diverse environments, including both open terrain and urban settings.

The UGV is armed with the ZSMU A3 remote-controlled weapon station and features an optoelectronic system, a laser rangefinder, a GPS receiver, a shot direction detector, and a 3D scanner. During MSPO 2022, a Perun UGV was demonstrated with the ZSMU A3C remote-controlled weapon station, armed with either a 7.62mm UKM 2000C or a 12.7 mm WKM-B heavy machine gun. It was also equipped with a Pirat missile, showcasing its potential anti-tank capabilities.

The Perun UGV can be customized for various tasks, including contamination and radiation detection, as well as non-lethal functions such as deploying smoke grenades and sound sirens.

Notably, the vehicle is capable of autonomous movement, although the use of weapons remains under the control of the operator. It is designed to engage in activities such as reconnaissance, patrolling, route and zone supervision, logistical transportation, evacuation of casualties, and providing fire support to friendly forces.

Two soldiers can operate the vehicle, with control available from the UGV itself within a range of up to 5 km or through portable desktops in the field with a range of up to 3 km.

Furthermore, the Perun UGV can accommodate additional systems, such as CBRN detectors and non-lethal devices like smoke grenades and public address loudspeakers.
