Norway improves surveillance capabilities with Rohde & Schwarz' Heimdall electronic warfare system.

During the DSEI 2023 exhibition, the technology group Rohde & Schwarz announced that the Norwegian army has selected this company to supply a comprehensive electronic warfare system known as Heimdall. This strategic decision aims to bolster Norway's surveillance capabilities and improve situational awareness.

Rohde & Schwarz was chosen due to its equipment's reputed RF characteristics, rapid signal processing capabilities, and user-friendly operation. Heimdall is set to provide the Norwegian Army with enhanced information detection, location, and analysis capabilities, thereby strengthening its proficiency in electronic warfare.

Wolfgang Marchl, Vice President of Government at Rohde & Schwarz, underscored the significance of information superiority and situational awareness for mission success. He noted, "Heimdall enables the Norwegian Army to augment its electronic warfare capabilities by facilitating faster and more efficient information detection, location, and analysis."
