Otokar from Türkiye showcases its range of Armored Vehicles at ExpoDefensa 2023.

At the ExpoDefensa 2023 expo, the editorial team of Army Recognition is observing the ARMA 8x8 modular multirole wheeled armored vehicle with a Cockerill 105 mm turret, designed by the Turkish company Otokar. This modern tactical vehicle stands out with its modular design and monocoque armored structure, offering a flexible platform for various equipment and weapon systems, suitable for the current needs of armed forces in military operations and peacekeeping.

The vehicle is designed to provide ballistic protection level 5 according to STANAG 4569 standards. Among its defense equipment, the ARMA 8x8 is equipped with eight smoke grenade launchers and can be fitted with active protection systems, sniper detection, air defense, friend-or-foe recognition, and laser warning detection.

The ARMA 8x8 is powered by a Caterpillar C9 turbo diesel engine generating 450 horsepower, coupled with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 105 km/h, it has a cruising range of 700 km, demonstrating its performance and durability in the field.

As for its 105 mm John Cockerill turret, it features a main cannon compliant with NATO standards, a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, and options for mounting other calibers of weapons. The turret, equipped with an automatic loading system for 12 to 16 rounds, offers anti-tank capability and is fitted with external cameras providing 360° coverage. It allows for an elevation range of -10 to +42°.
