The 3M Lazar offers a modular approach to ballistic protection. The hull is made of armored steel and can optionally be equipped with an anti-splinter coating. The level of ballistic protection can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the user and can be improved throughout the life of the vehicle. The vehicle floor offers two levels of mine protection.

The driver and commander are positioned at the front of the vehicle, each with individual side doors and hatches above their seats. Both have access to three periscopes for visibility. The driver's seat and steering column are adjustable. The rear of the vehicle houses the crew compartment, accessible via a hydraulic ramp, two doors integrated into this ramp, or hatches on the roof.

The vehicle's powerplant is located on the right front, in a compartment isolated from the crew area. All wheels on the vehicle have independent suspension, and the first two wheels are also used for steering.

The vehicle is armed with a 30mm 2A42 automatic cannon and a 7.62mm 6P7K machine gun, part of its RCWS. The system is intended for a variety of roles, including the engagement of unarmored or lightly armored personnel and equipment. The fire control system integrates a TV sight and a thermal sight with a laser rangefinder.

The Lazar 3M has a maximum speed of 110 km/h and can navigate slopes of up to 60% and side slopes of 30%. The combat weight of the vehicle varies between 24 and 26 tonnes, depending on mission needs and protection levels. Its dimensions are 7.92 meters long, 2.95 meters wide, and 2.32 meters high, excluding the turret.
