Milkor Showcases Multi-Domain Capabilities at LAAD 2025 with UAVs, Armored Vehicles, and Grenade Launchers.

Present at LAAD 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, South African company Milkor highlights an integrated multi-domain offering, illustrated through the presentation of its MALE-class Milkor 380 UAV, a comprehensive range of grenade launchers, and modular land armored vehicles. Founded in 1981, Milkor initially gained recognition by developing the world’s first 40 mm six-shot multiple grenade launcher, quickly adopted by the South African National Defence Force under the name Y2. Building on this early success, the company expanded its portfolio and now exports its systems to over 56 countries. Since 2015, Milkor has positioned itself as a global provider of defense solutions across land, air, and sea domains.

In the field of individual and collective armament, Milkor continues to build on its historical expertise with a full line of 40 mm grenade launchers

The Milkor 380 UAV, designed for medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) missions, is one of the key components of Milkor’s aerial offering. Fully developed in-house and ITAR-free, the Milkor 380 is intended for surveillance, reconnaissance, and opportunistic engagement operations. It can carry a wide range of payloads, including electro-optical and infrared sensors, synthetic aperture radar (SAR/ISAR), and capabilities for COMINT and SIGINT missions. With both line-of-sight and satellite communication options, the platform is suited to tactical as well as extended strategic missions. It is fully customizable to client requirements and supports both manual and autonomous operation.

In the field of individual and collective armament, Milkor continues to build on its historical expertise with a full line of 40 mm grenade launchers. Key systems presented include the MK1L/S series, the six-shot SuperSix MRGL, and the single-shot, fast-reloading Stopper Convertible. The product range also includes under-barrel launchers (UBGL) and non-lethal 37/38 mm models for crowd-control applications. These weapons are designed for deployment in a wide range of operational environments and are currently fielded in over 67 countries. The emphasis is placed on reliability, ergonomic design, adaptability, and compatibility with diverse ammunition types.

In the land systems segment, Milkor offers modular armored vehicles designed to support multiple mission profiles including troop transport, logistics support, command roles, or weapon system integration. These platforms can be configured according to user-specific requirements in terms of architecture and onboard systems. Complementing its hardware, Milkor also provides a full range of support services, including in-country maintenance, technical and operator training, as well as technology transfer programs aimed at strengthening local industrial capabilities and strategic autonomy. This integrated approach is aligned with the expectations of markets seeking operational effectiveness and local industrial development.

Milkor’s participation in LAAD 2025 reflects its strategy to combine proven systems with long-term partnerships. From the air to ground, the company positions itself as a provider of complete, customizable defense solutions supported by local services. The full interview is available in the video below.
