"Ji’an", Ninth Type 056 Corvette (Jiangdao class), commissioned
in Chinese Navy (PLAN) |

The
type-056 corvette (locally designated guided missile frigate) “Ji’an”
was delivered to a troop unit under the East China Sea Fleet of the
Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLAN) on the morning
of December 31, 2013 in Shanghai. Corvette “Ji’an”
with the hull number of 586 was named after the Ji’an city of
east China’s Jiangxi province. |

The
warship was built by inheriting the building mode, hull structure and
technical performance of the warships of the same type, and through
minor adjustment of the installation positions of some equipment for
more convenient operation and maintenance. In addition, the partial
optimization of its bulwarks and mast makes the warship more delicate
and graceful.
It is learned that the corvette “Bengbu”,
China's first type-056 (first ship of the class), sailed to sea 10
months ago right from Shanghai. |
