RMK Marine participates in DIMDEX 2014 International Maritime & Defense Exhibition in Qatar.

The
DIMDEX 2014 Exhibition, which is being organized for the 4th time this
year, is an important platform in terms of uniting global industry leader
firms and industrial representatives, bureaucrats and businessmen of Middle
Eastern and African countries and generating a gradually increasing demand
in the defense industry. In this Exhibition, worldwide manufacturers in
the electronics, technology development and weapon systems fields will
also come together, along with the leading firms of the defense industry.
RMK Marine’s stand will be situated at Stand No. H6-18 in the Turkish
Section of Pavilion in the Exhibition under the coordination of the Turkish
Undersecretariat for Defense Industry (SSM). The Company will exhibit its ongoing naval projects such as 85 m Corvette platforms, Multi-Mission Corvette-30+ knots, Fast Attack Craft (42m in length) and Multi-role Coast Guard Vessel (66 m in length) as well as Coast Guard Search and Rescue Vessel project is currently being built for the Turkish Coast Guard Command. The CGS&AR vessel has an overall length of 88.6 meters, weight of 1700 tons, maximum speed of 22 knots. The three vessels were delivered and the last vessel will also be delivered within April 2014. The Success of Turkish Engineers RMK Marine will exhibit its successes and experience, in both the construction and the integration of weapons and electronic systems of naval vessels. RMK Marine has given an offer for the corvette project of Qatar Naval Forces as a main contractor together with STM, Aselsan and Havelsan. In this project, RMK Marine together with STM that undertakes the platform design responsibility, have reflected the know-how and experience of Turkey with regards to corvettes and OPV class vessels as well as national combat system capabilities. Commenting on RMK Marine’s involvement in this prestigious DIMDEX Exhibition, RMK Marine’s General Manager Can Öztürk said; “We are pleased to represent our country for the second time in the DIMDEX. We will be honored to share Turkish defense industry capabilities and our ongoing projects with all international participants”. In 2000 RMK Marine had also successfully built and delivered two naval logistics vessels to the Turkish Naval Forces, namely TCG Alb. Hakki Burak and TCG Yzb. Ihsan Tolunay with 2100 DWT capacity. |
