The Neptune also called RK-360MC is a land-based mobile air coastal missile defense system based on a modified 8x8 truck chassis KrAZ-7634NE. The system entered in service with the Ukrainian armed forces in August 2020.
The Neptune coastal missile defense system has four missile containers; each container could house one anti-ship missile R-360 able to destroy cruiser, destroyer, frigate, corvette, landing, tank landing and transport ships.
The R-360 missile weighs 870 kg, including 150 kg for the warhead. Its launch speed is about 900 km/h. The Neptune would be able to achieve its full capability if positioned no farther than 25 km from the coastline. The missile has an inertial navigation system with active radar homing on the terminal stage of its flight.
The Neptune coastal missile system consists of an RCP-360 self-propelled command control and communications centre, USPU-360 self-propelled launchers, a TZM-360 transport and reloader system and a special cargo vehicle. The system is capable of hitting targets at ranges up to 280 km.
