Rybinsk Shipyard holds keel laying ceremony of BK-16 Project 02510 speed landing boat for Russian Guard.
According to information published by the Russian press agency TASS on February 8, 2021, Rybinsk Shipyard has held the keel laying ceremony for the construction of a new speed landing boat BK-16 of project 02510 for the Russian Guard.

“The laying ceremony was held in Rybinsk. Officials of the Russian Guard and employees of the shipyard participated,” the Kalashnikov Group said. It will be the fifth boat built by the shipyard for the Russian Guard. It is to be ready in 2021.
The BK-16 boat is designed for medical evacuation, assistance to distressed vessels, landing on an unequipped bank of 19 men. It can operate in coastal seawaters, straights, river mouths, and lakes at any time of the day. The boat is 18-meter long and 4.08-meter wide. The draft is 0.8 meters. The crew comprises two men and can accommodate up to 19 personnel.. The maximum speed is 45 knots and the cruising range is 400 miles.
The BK-16 has diving, countersubversion, fire-fighting modifications and can carry mine clearance equipment and intensive therapy modules. The boat can be armed with a remotely operated weapon station armed with a 12.7mm machine gun. The rear deck can be fitted with 7.62mm machine guns mounted on the side as well as 40mm grenade launcher.
The Kalashnikov Group began to build BK-16 boats for the Russian Guard in 2018.
