Iran, Indonesia to expand defense cooperation


On the sidelines of IndoDefence 2018, Deputy Defense Minister Qassem Taqizadeh and Indonesian Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu expressed their intention to expand bilateral ties and cooperation in defense industries.

Describing Iran and Indonesia’s position as strategic, Deputy Defense Minister Qassem said that further interaction between the two countries’ officials will help strengthen peace, stability and security in the region and world. The Indonesian defense minister said that the Southeast Asian security situation is positive. Addressing the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Indonesian Vice-President stressed the urgent need to use modern and advanced technologies in the defense industries of different countries.

Iran has taken long strides in defense industry in the last couple of years and has become self-reliable in producing, manufacturing and repairing many of its needed warfare machines, vehicles, vessels, and weapons.
