ISDEF 2019: Bell helicopter will exhibit its full range of military helicopters

American Company Bell Helicopter will attend ISDEF 2019, International Defense and HomeLand Security Exhibition that will be held in Tel Aviv from the 4 to 6 June 2019. Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. is an American aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. A subsidiary of Textron, Bell manufactures military rotorcraft in and around Fort Worth, as well as in Amarillo, Texas, and commercial helicopters in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.

Since 2007, ISDEF, the premier international defense, HLS, cyber and army expo, has been catering to the needs of the Military, Police, Special Forces, HLS organizations and the Cyber Community by exposing them to the products and solutions provided by innovative defense and security companies worldwide.

Different types of helicopters produced by Bell Helicopter are in services with the Israeli Armed Forces including Bell-UH1, AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter, Bell 206 and Bell 212.

Since many year , Israel armed forces has showed interest to purchase V-22 Osprey to support special operations and search and rescue missions. The V-22 Osprey developed by Boeing and Bell Helicopters.

The V-22 Osprey is a tilt-rotor aircraft that can be operated as an helicopter when taking off and landing vertically. The nacelles rotate 90° forward once airborne, converting the aircraft into a turboprop aircraft.

The Osprey can be armed with one 7.62×51mm NATO (.308 in caliber) M240 machine gun or .50 in caliber (12.7 mm) M2 machine gun on the loading ramp, that can be fired rearward when the ramp is lowered. A .50 in GAU-19 three-barrel Gatling gun mounted below the nose was studied for future upgrade. BAE Systems developed a belly-mounted, remotely operated gun turret system for the V-22, named the Interim Defense Weapon System (IDWS). The IDWS is remotely operated by a gunner inside the aircraft, who acquires targets via a separate pod using color television and forward looking infrared imagery.

The Osprey has greater speed, range and lift capability over conventional helicopters. It can operate from ships, as well as from the rough frontline airfields. It can carry 9,000 kg internally or 6,800 kg externally. The MV-22A operated by the US Marine Corps accommodates up to 24 troops, or 12 litters and medical team.
