Company Cavalier Group from Pakistan has delivered 6 Interceptor Light Protected Vehicles to the National Guard of Bahrain. The Company is a manufacturer of combat vehicles and individual equipment as body armor. At BIDEC 2019, Bahrain defense Exhibition, Cavalier Group showcases its Interceptor 4x4 light protected patrol vehicle.

It is reported that On 30 April 2018, the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) jointly with Cavalier Group PVT LTD received a contract to produce 6 Interceptor light armored vehicles for the Bahrain National Guards.

The contract was signed between the Chairman HIT Lt Gen Muhammad Naeem Ashraf and H.E Lt Gen Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, brother of King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and providing an option for more 50 vehicles.

The Interceptor is a light protected patrol vehicle based on a Toyota LC79 chassis upgraded with a ladder frame, brakes, suspension, axles and wheel stations designed to meet up to 6,000 kg of combat weight. The vehicle offers a standard protection Level B6 against the firing of small arms 7.62 mm caliber that can be upgraded to Level B7 offering protection against armor piercing ammunition.

The Interceptor layout is divided into three main compartments with the engine at the front, driver and commander at the front and troops compartment at the rear. There are two doors on each side of the hull and one additional door at the rear. The roof of the vehicle is equipped with one open-top manual turret armed with one 7.62 mm machine gun.

The Interceptor is motorized with a V8 Turbo Diesel Intercooled engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle can run at a maximum road speed of 150 km with a maximum cruising range of 500 km. It can climb a gradient of 60% and a side slope of 30%. It has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 5,300 kg with a payload of 800 kg.
