China donates Tiger 4x4 armored vehicles to Kyrgyz special battalion.

The Ministry of Public Security of China donated buses, SUVs, Tiger armored vehicles to the “Shumkar” special battalion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. The gift is worth 30 million yuan, Polygon Military Magazine reports.

On 3 June, the Kyrgyz Internal Affairs Minister Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev and Zhao Kezhi, the State Councilor, Minister of Public Security of China, discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and its further development prospects, told press service MIA of Kyrgyz Republic.

After discussion of the main issues, both sides signed a Protocol “On providing material and technical assistance and (police) equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on a gratuitous basis” for the total amount of 30 million Chinese yuan.

At Eurosatory 2012 Defence Exhibition, the Chinese defense company Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing introduced a new 4x4 armored vehicle personnel carrier (APC) for the international market: the Tiger. The Tiger uses a 4x4 cross-country truck chassis which provides high mobility in all-terrain conditions. The Tiger APC has a crew of 2 (commander and driver) and can carry 9 fully equipped infantrymen. The vehicle has shown effective protection against the Type 56 Chinese 7.62mm caliber machine gun. During the firing tests, the CEO of the Company Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing, Wang Bao Ho, was inside the vehicle to demonstrate its confidence in the protection level.
