The system provides close-range defense against possible asymmetric threats for marine platforms, even under harsh environmental conditions. The STAMP-2 system can be equipped with 7.62 mm, 12.7 mm machine guns and 40 mm grenade launcher interchangeably onboard. Thanks to its laser range finder, day&night vision cameras, automatic target detection and tracking, precise stabilization and automatic ballistic calculation capabilities, the first round hit performance of STAMP-2 is unmatched for the targets on the water and in the air.
Among the updates made on the STAMP-2 system, the embedded training simulator, advanced user interface and independent stabilized electro-optical system are in the foreground. Thanks to the under deck ammunition feeding mechanism, STAMP-2 is loaded with ammunition from the inside of the vessel in order to prevent the ship crew being exposed to counter shots. STAMP-2, whose operation limits have been increased, can also be operated in surveillance mode with its independent stabilized electro-optics without any need for directing the weapon to the target.
Another feature of STAMP-2 system is the new user interface. In the updated system, the screen size has been enlarged to 19 inches. It is a great advantage for the user to display the day vision and thermal camera images simultaneously on the screen during the operation. With advanced user graphical interfaces and embedded training simulator, the system is now more user friendly and it enables easier and faster operation as well as training.
Today, over 3,000 Remotely Controlled Weapon System family products of ASELSAN are being successfully used in the inventory of 19 different countries throughout the world, and now, the primary defense electronics supplier of Turkey, ASELSAN is offering its new STAMP-2 for protecting the peace and welfare of her customers.
