IDEX 2019: TRB exhibits the Despot 4x4 armored vehicle.

At IDEX 2019, TRB (Tehnicki Remont Bratunac) from Republika Srpska presented some of their products, such as the RS9 Vampire or the Despot 4x4 armored vehicle. The Despot is a multi-purpose, highly protected off-road 4x4 armored vehicle, jointly developed by TRB and the Government of Republic of Srpska, and was revealed on the National Day of Republic of Srpska - 09 January 2019.

Despot is designed to carry out a vast range of missions from police units to armed forces. The concept of the Despot is to be a highly cost-effective vehicle based on a multi-purpose chassis combined with a modern powertrain with individual suspension that provides a high level of mobility in all terrain and weather conditions.

The Despot is 6.05m long, 2.70m high and 2.56m wide, has a maximum weight of 14t and can accommodate 9 soldiers. The Despot can carry a payload of more than 3t. The maximum speed of the Despot is 120km/h and has 1300Nm of torque, thanks to his 7.2L, 240Kw Mercedes-Benz engine and have a total of 400 liters of fuel, divided in 2 fuel tanks. The Despot can overcome gradient of 50%, lateral gradients of 30%, vertical obstacles of 0.5m, fording of 1.1m, with and aproach angle of 40° and departure angle of 43°.

The Despot can be fitted with various weapon stations such as manned ring-mounted systems or remote control weapon stations. Armor wise, the Despot is STANAG 4569 Level 2 certified and can be fitted with optional STANAG 4569 Level 3 ballistic armor. The Despot is also STANAG 4569 Levels 2a and 2b certified regarding explosion resistance.
